Our history

A lifetime's passion!

In 1971 Stephen Black purchased a controlling share in Otley Motors Limited, a Ford dealership in Otley, West Yorkshire.

Otley Motors quickly became renowned for selling both new and almost new Fords at heavily discounted prices. Before long this reputation for vehicle discounting spread nationwide and in 1981 our first car supermarket 'The Ford Hypermarket' was established.

Following ten years of consolidation and growth, 1991 saw a complete redevelopment of the Otley site and a new state of the art showroom and workshop being built. This new facility was opened by the then Ford Motor Company Chairman Sir Ian McAllister.

In 1994 Stephen acquired a prime piece of land in Harrogate opposite the Great Yorkshire Showground and proceeded to build a new car supermarket which is Andrews Auto Parcs Limited today.

Nicholas, Stephen's son worked at Otley Motors since 1988. His initial role was that of Sales Executive before progressing to Sales Manager. Nicholas became General Manager of Andrews in 1994 when it commenced trading.

Stephen sold Otley Motors in 1997 and retired from the day to day commitment of running a company. Stephen is still involved in Andrews Auto Parcs Limited retaining direct contact with all major manufacturers. This is incredibly useful when sourcing and purchasing prime stock.

All of the Andrews team are long serving and irreplaceable employees who are now part of the family! Jacob and Andrew form the spearhead of our successful sales team both starting with the company in 1998. Their commitment and hard work are never taken for granted and in return they have demonstrated what loyalty is all about.
